Assistant Controller - Mostly Remote for DMV Candidates About the Company and Opportunity:
- Our client is well-known non-profit who has been around for almost 100 years!
- Due to vacancy, they are hiring a temporary Assistant Controller.
- Position is mostly remote; candidates will have to go into the MD or DC office 1x per quarter and as needed by management.
- Pay: $58-60/hr depending on experience.
- Metro Accessible
- Duration: contract-to-hire, depending on performance, fit, and needs of the business
- Schedule: M-F, 8a-5p/9a-6p, 40-hour work week
Overview of the Assistant Controller role:
- Review and approve recurring entries
- Audit
- 990's and 990-T's
- Oversee AP and Payroll
- Forecasting and budgeting
- Maintain internal controls
- Month-end Close activities
- Consolidations
- Reporting
- Ad hoc projects/reporting
Preferred Qualifications for the Assistant Controller:
- Master's in Accounting/Finance or related field is preferred
- CPA is a plus
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Oracle Fusion and ADP Workforce Now is a plus
- Non-profit experience is a must
- Proficient in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
