Cloud Migration Engineer – AWS to Azure, Consultant, Part-time
Job Description:
- Lead end-to-end migration of cloud infrastructure from AWS to Azure
- Assess current AWS architecture, dependencies, and workloads
- Design and implement equivalent Azure-based solutions
- Migrate core services, including: Compute (EC2 → Virtual Machines), Storage (S3 → Blob Storage), Serverless (Lambda → Azure Functions), Databases (RDS / DynamoDB → Azure SQL / Cosmos DB), Networking (VPC → Virtual Network)
- Reconfigure identity and access management (IAM → Entra ID / RBAC)
- Migrate monitoring and logging (CloudWatch → Azure Monitor)
- Transition messaging and queueing systems (SQS / SNS → Azure Queue / Service Bus / Event Grid)
- Implement infrastructure as code using Bicep or ARM templates
- Migrate containerized workloads (ECS/EKS → AKS, ECR → Azure Container Registry)
- Ensure security best practices and compliance throughout migration
- Perform testing, validation, and optimization post-migration
- Document architecture, processes, and handover guidelines
Requirements:
- Proven experience with both AWS and Azure cloud platforms
- Hands-on experience with cloud migration projects (AWS → Azure preferred)
- Strong knowledge of: Compute, storage, networking, and database services in both environments
- Identity and access management (IAM, RBAC, Azure AD/Entra ID)
- CI/CD pipelines (CodePipeline, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS/EKS)
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (CloudFormation, ARM, Bicep, Terraform is a plus)
- Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills
