Deputy Chief of Compliance
About the Client Our client operates as a retail crypto on/off-ramp platform, enabling users to buy, sell, and swap cryptocurrencies in over 180 countries. They support transactions using credit/debit cards, bank transfers, PayPal, Apple Pay, and other local payment methods. The platform facilitates fiat-to-crypto and crypto-to-fiat conversions, as well as crypto-to-crypto swaps. With a focus on retail users, it provides a straightforward entry into the crypto market. The service supports over 65 currencies and includes a custodial wallet for user convenience. Role Overview Join a growing team as the Deputy Chief of Compliance and play a crucial role in shaping the compliance landscape of a dynamic crypto platform. You will lead efforts to review and improve compliance frameworks, ensuring regulatory obligations are met. This position offers the opportunity to drive significant compliance projects, engage with multiple stakeholders, and enhance risk management strategies across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct a comprehensive review of the existing compliance framework, identifying key risk areas. Drive the compliance roadmap, prioritizing initiatives and ensuring timely completion of projects. Act as a trusted compliance partner, building relationships across leadership and operational teams. Ensure the organization remains audit-ready and compliant with regulatory requirements. Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and scalability within the compliance function.
Requirements
At least 5+ years of senior AML, compliance experience in regulated crypto or fintech. Deep knowledge of EU AML/CFT regulatory frameworks such as AMLD5/AMLR, MiCA, and others. Proven experience in developing compliance processes and leading regulatory projects. Experience managing compliance staff and acting as a deputy to senior leadership. Hands-on experience with blockchain analytics tools like Chainalysis or Elliptic. Languages: English. Experience in fintech.
