Position Overview The Director of Doctor Recruitment is responsible for leading all recruitment efforts related to sourcing, attracting, and hiring top-tier doctors across SDB’s growing network of specialty dental practices. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on recruitment expertise to ensure that each partner practice is supported by exceptional clinical talent. The Director will develop and execute innovative, data-driven recruitment strategies while fostering a strong employer brand within the dental community.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement a national doctor recruitment strategy aligned with SDB’s growth plans and partnership goals. Collaborate with executive and operations leadership to forecast doctor staffing needs and support new practice integrations. Build and maintain strong relationships with doctors, dental schools, residency programs, and professional associations to expand SDB’s recruitment network. Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in doctor recruitment and ensure alignment with SDB’s mission and values. Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle for orthodontists, pediatric dentists, oral surgeons. Partner closely with practice owners and regional operations to understand unique practice cultures and match candidates accordingly. Leverage data, market insights, and recruitment technology to optimize sourcing strategies and track key performance metrics (time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, candidate satisfaction, etc.). Ensure compliance with credentialing, licensing, and other regulatory requirements for all doctor hires. Lead and mentor a small but high-performing doctor recruitment team. Provide ongoing training, coaching, and tools to ensure the team’s success in a competitive market. Continuously evaluate and improve recruitment processes for efficiency, scalability, and candidate experience. Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to enhance SDB’s employer brand and doctor value proposition. May represent SDB at dental schools, professional conferences, and association events. Create and promote targeted recruitment campaigns highlighting SDB’s doctor-led model and practice support structure. Manage the doctor recruitment team, budget, ensuring resources are effectively allocated. Evaluate and negotiate contracts with vendors, job boards, and search firms specializing in dental recruitment. Identify and implement new tools and technologies to enhance recruitment effectiveness. Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred). Experience: 8+ years of recruitment experience, including at least 3+ years leading doctor or provider recruitment in dental or healthcare. Proven success in sourcing and placing doctors or specialists across multiple regions. Experience building and scaling recruitment operations during periods of rapid organizational growth. In-depth understanding of the dental industry, specialty practice models, and licensure requirements. Strong leadership and relationship management skills. Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and a commitment to operational excellence. Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruitment analytics tools. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-site organization and build trust with clinical leaders. Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
  • 8+ years of recruitment experience
  • At least 3+ years leading doctor or provider recruitment
