Title: Director of Finance and Operations Location: Denver, Colorado, United States Job Description: At CPCQC we are on a mission to ensure that EVERY pregnant and postpartum person, infant, and their families in Colorado have access to and receive safe, equitable, high-quality care. This team is driving new collaborations, expanding community connection to care, and driving state-wide maternal and infant health quality improvement initiatives. Colorado Perinatal Care Quality Collaborative (CPCQC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that works with healthcare facilities, community-based organizations, and families here in Colorado as well with national partners to advance best practices and improve outcomes in maternal and infant health. The Director of Finance and Operations is a mission-driven leader who ensures the financial integrity and operational strength of our nonprofit organization. This role oversees budgeting, accounting, grant compliance, and organizational systems that enable our programs and staff to thrive. With a strong commitment to transparency, stewardship, and operational excellence, the Director partners with leadership to align resources with mission impact, maintain rigorous compliance with funder and regulatory requirements, and support sustainable organizational growth.   • The Director of Finance and Operations position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and will work in regular contact with the Fractional Chief Financial Officer. Through skilled management of external administrative service vendors and partnership with the Leadership Team, the Director of Finance and Operations will
  • lead efforts to support and position the organization as it continues to grow rapidly both in operations and revenue.

Responsibilities: Grants Compliance Core Functions:

  • Organization and management of grant deadlines, deliverables, and compliance requirements for each grant. Includes federal, state, and philanthropic grant vehicles.
  • Maintain current knowledge of grant, contract, RFP, RFI, and purchase rules, and regulations.
  • Monitor and track all grant and contract recipients to ensure they are meeting grant compliance requirements.
  • Monitor and process a variety of program data and financial collection data from sub-recipients, program personnel, and partners. Advise on spend management and reallocations.
  • Provide subject matter expertise related to grants compliance to ensure all plans, documents, contracts, and unit correspondence are inclusive of health equity principles
  • Provide leadership with contract budget and statement of work guidance as applicable.
  • Support CPCQC Directors and program management leads on alignment with grant requirements and preparing and delivering high quality deliverables that meet compliance guidelines
  • Lead periodic reviews of grant documentation with Directors and program managers.
  • Learning the various state and federal reporting systems and creating internal tools for maintaining continuity of operations with grant reporting if grant leads leave the organization.
  • Main point of contact for program officers and financial personnel at funder agencies.
  • Partner with the development team to support grant compliance, donor reporting, and event operations.

Operations Core Functions:

  • Manage day-to-day administrative functions for the organization such as grants management, team retreat planning, planning for annual operations efforts (open enrollment, team days, employee handbook reviews, workplace satisfaction surveys, Cyber security training, etc.)
  • Ensure employee benefit renewals are cost-aligned with comparable health plans.
  • Interface and monitor contracts for administrative services vendors including legal, IT, HR, benefits, and finance
  • Oversee and track progress on operations focused KPIs and workplace certifications
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Leadership Team to continually evaluate and improve the workplace environment.
  • Review and update organizational policies and procedures as needed.
  • Oversee day-to-day organizational operations to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with the nonprofit’s mission.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination across all outsourced administrative and financial teams including: Finance, HR, Legal, Bookkeeping and Health Benefits.
  • Evaluate and optimize internal systems, workflows, and operational policies.
  • Maintain and update employee policies, handbooks, and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure that program teams have the operational infrastructure, tools, and systems needed to meet goals.
