Experienced Customer Service Manager – Retail Operations and Team Leadership

Job Summary

As a Customer Service Manager at careerzynith, you will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team of customer service representatives, cashiers, and other front-end staff. You will be responsible for creating an outstanding customer experience, driving sales and profits, and ensuring that all aspects of customer service, cash control, labor control, expense, and supply controls are being followed. You will also be responsible for hiring, training, and developing new associates, as well as coaching and holding existing associates accountable for meeting performance expectations.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and develop a high-performing team of customer service representatives, cashiers, and other front-end staff

  • Create an outstanding customer experience by ensuring that all customer service, cash control, labor control, expense, and supply controls are being followed
  • Drive sales and profits by ensuring effective display and sales techniques, efficient ordering, scheduling, and work planning
  • Analyze P&L for business opportunities and determine areas for improvement
  • Communicate findings and plans of action with store manager and other stakeholders
  • Hire, train, and develop new associates, as well as coach and hold existing associates accountable for meeting performance expectations
  • Ensure that all policies, programs, and directives are communicated and executed in a positive and timely manner
  • Participate actively as a coordinated, motivated management team
  • Train and coach team on all KPIs, customer service, product knowledge, suggestive selling, safety, and sanitation
  • Use initiative, ingenuity, creativity, and good judgment to act on opportunities and issues as they occur within the store location
  • Ensure that all regulatory compliance requirements pertaining to food safety, USDA, and COOL are being followed
  • Execute all product recalls and withdrawals in a timely manner while ensuring all items are secured and removed from customer access

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred

  • 3-6 years of supervisory experience in retail or customer service environment
  • Proven track record of driving sales and profits through effective leadership and strategic planning
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to create an outstanding customer experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills
  • Possession of food safety certification or ability to obtain same within 180 days of placement
  • Authorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain same
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check

Preferred Qualifications

* Bilingual or multilingual skills (English and Spanish)

  • Experience with computer applications used in effectively operating the department
  • Knowledge of retail operations, customer service, and sales techniques
