The Field Application Specialist for Upstream & Cell Culture will provide technical expertise and application support for Cytiva’s upstream bioprocessing portfolio, including cell culture media, bioreactors, and associated solutions. This role partners closely with sales, customers, and internal teams to drive solution adoption, ensure customer success, and accelerate growth in the biopharma segment. is responsible for [insert a couple of sentences of the responsibilities for this job that drive significant impact to the organization. This position reports to the Upstream and Cell Culture Sales Specialist Leader and is part of the BioProcess Commercial Organization located in Hyderabad and will be working remotely to cover the assigned region. What you will do: Customer Engagement & Technical Support: Act as the technical expert for upstream and cell culture products. Provide pre-sales and post-sales support to customers in biopharma, biotech, and research organizations. Deliver product demonstrations, process optimization guidance, and troubleshooting support. Application Development & Solutioning: Support customers in process development, scale-up, and tech transfer. Design and recommend end-to-end upstream workflows using Cytiva solutions.Collaborate with global teams to adapt solutions to regional customer needs. Sales Enablement: Partner with commercial teams to identify opportunities and drive revenue growth. Support technical presentations, seminars, and workshops. Contribute to proposal development and technical documentation. Training & Knowledge Sharing: Conduct customer training sessions on upstream technologies, cell culture media, and bioreactor systems. Provide internal training for sales teams on application knowledge and positioning. Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement: Investigate and resolve customer technical challenges related to cell culture performance and upstream operations. Document learnings and share feedback with R&D and product management teams. Who you are: Education: Master’s in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field. Experience: 10-15 years of experience in Upstream bioprocessing/Mammalian cell culture/Bioreactor operations and scale-up. Experience in biopharma, CDMO, or life sciences industry preferred. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Cell culture (mammalian, CHO cells preferred), Upstream bioprocessing workflows, Bioreactors (bench-top to pilot scale), Media optimization and process development Familiarity with GMP environments, Process analytical technologies (PAT), Data analysis tools Soft Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset. Ability to build customer relationships and influence decisions.
