Hiring: Journalist with PR Experience (Direct Media Placements – No Middlemen)

Capsul is looking for a talented journalist or media insider to help us get real earned media coverage in top-tier outlets. This is not an agency role. This is for someone who personally knows how to write, pitch, and place stories — and can deliver results without crazy fees. Important: We’re a lean, fast-growing startup with a smart budget. We’re not looking for traditional PR firms or middlemen. We prefer to work directly with a skilled journalist or freelancer who understands the media world, has real newsroom relationships, and thrives on agility and creativity. The Ideal Fit:

• You have personal relationships or strong contacts at major outlets like Forbes, Business Insider, Fast Company, Associated Press, GQ, etc.
• You know how to craft powerful pitches that get picked up — because you’ve been on the other side of the desk.
• You can write high-quality, publishable stories if needed.
• You’ve worked with fast-moving startups, brands, or founders before.
• Bonus: Familiarity with lifestyle, design, innovation, housing, or real estate topics.

Role & Deliverables:

• Secure real media placements in top outlets.
• Develop creative angles and smart PR strategies.
• Work directly with our team (no account managers or layers).
• Start on a per-article/per-placement basis, with opportunity to grow into a long-term relationship.
