[Hiring] Overnight Virtual Care Veterinary Technician - Teletriage @Modern Animal
Role Description At Modern Animal, we’re on a mission to build the future of veterinary care, together. We believe in bringing humanity back to veterinary medicine, and we’re looking for a passionate, compassionate, and skilled Credentialed Veterinary Technician (referred to internally as Veterinary Nurse) to join our growing Virtual Care team.
- Available Schedules:
- Full-Time Teletriage (Evening/Overnight): Thursday – Sunday | 8pm-6am (PST)
- What You’ll Be Doing:
- Engage with members via chat, phone, and video, providing support and education on their pets’ health and well-being
- Triage cases based on veterinary knowledge, offering recommendations and ensuring accurate information
- Review medical records to understand patient history and provide informed guidance
- Document clearly and accurately in patient records using veterinary terminology
- Verify and process prescriptions, ensuring appropriate follow-up for client requests
- Deliver top-tier client care with empathy and warmth, whether over chat, phone, or video
- Follow protocols, maintaining consistency while adjusting to each unique case
- Collaborate cross-functionally, providing feedback to improve processes and systems

- Qualifications
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician: You’ve successfully completed the VTNE and have at least 4 years of experience in small animal veterinary medicine (emergency and specialty experience is a plus but not required)
- Tech-savvy: You’re comfortable navigating multiple computer programs and online platforms
- Exceptional communicator: You can clearly articulate medical information, both verbally and in writing, with compassion and clarity
- Adaptable problem solver: You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and can generate innovative solutions to support our members and teams
- Independent worker: You manage priorities and tasks effectively with minimal supervision
