Medication Prior Authorization Specialist – Remote Independent Contractor

Choose your own hours, control your earnings! Are you experienced in medication prior authorizations and looking for remote, flexible work? Phoenix Practice Solutions is seeking experienced Independent Contractors to help providers obtain medication authorizations for patients. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, understands insurance requirements, and wants the ability to control their schedule and earnings. Position Overview This is a remote Independent Contractor position. You may choose your own hours between 800 AM and 600 PM, Monday through Friday, with a minimum of 4 hours per day. You may also work longer hours if you choose. Our greatest need is coverage until 500 or 600 PM EST. Medication authorizations are one of the fastest-growing areas in healthcare. Providers need support with authorizations for weight loss medications, biologics, chemotherapeutics, infusion therapies, and buy-and-bill medications. If you have this experience, there is strong potential for steady work and increased earnings. Pay and Earnings Pay is transaction-based, meaning each case you accept and complete is a paid project. Estimated pay range Approximately $400 to $1,000+ per week, based on production and bonus. The more cases you complete, the higher your earning potential. Higher production may qualify for higher bonus rates per pay period. Many contractors earn the equivalent of approximately $20 to $30+ per hour, depending on their speed, accuracy, and production. You will invoice for your completed transactions. Orientation and Training Remote paid orientation is provided for a few days, with the length based on assessment at the time of start. During orientation, you will learn the client protocols and EMR documentation requirements. Orientation is generally 4 hours per day. Once orientation is completed and you have successfully passed QA, you may choose your schedule, increase your hours beyond the 4-hour minimum if desired, and begin building your production and bonus potential. As this is an Independent Contractor position, applicants should already have the skills and experience needed to perform medication authorization work.

Qualifications

Applicants must have

• Minimum 3 years of experience with medication prior authorizations and medical terminology in a medical office, clinical setting, infusion/therapy center, facility.
• Experience providing clinical information to insurance carriers by phone and online
• Experience with medication authorizations, especially
• Infusion therapies
• Chemotherapy
• Biologics
• Buy-and-bill medications
• Prior EMR experience
• Experience with online portals such as Availity, Evicore, or similar platforms is a plus
• Strong computer skills, including working with multiple windows and browsers at the same time
• Microsoft Office experience
• Professional phone presence
• Strong grammar and spelling
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
