Oligonucleotide Bioinformatics Scientist/Senior Scientist
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Oligonucleotide Bioinformatics Scientist/Senior Scientist to join our team. This role focuses on the in silico design and off-target analysis of oligonucleotide therapeutics, including antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs), small interfering RNAs (siRNAs), etc. You will also contribute to the development of computational tools and pipelines that accelerate oligonucleotide design and analysis for therapeutic applications in rare diseases, oncology, and other genetic disorders.
Responsibilities
Perform in silico design and optimization of siRNAs and ASO for therapeutic applications. Develop and maintain bioinformatics tools and automated pipelines for oligonucleotide design. Utilize algorithms to predict target accessibility, off-target effects, RNA secondary structure, and thermodynamic properties. Integrate genomic, transcriptomic, and structural data to enhance design accuracy. Collaborate with experimental teams to validate computational predictions. Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies in oligonucleotide therapeutics and molecular diagnostics.
Qualifications
Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Molecular Biology, or related field. Strong experience in oligonucleotide design, including ASOs and siRNAs with minimum 2-4 years direct industry experiences . Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, R, Java, SQL) and bioinformatics tools (Bowtie, STAR, Salmon, DeSeq2, etc.). Familiarity with RNA biology, gene expression regulation, and assay development. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. Experience with machine learning approaches for oligonucleotide optimization. Experience with RNA-seq data analysis and target validation workflows. Familiarity with regulatory considerations for oligonucleotide therapeutics. Experience in developing custom bioinformatics software or web-based tools.
