Part-time Certified Medical Assistant - Front Desk Support
About the position At AFC, we are committed to delivering fast, friendly, and high-quality patient care. We are seeking a dependable Certified Medical Assistant who is confident supporting both front desk operations and clinical back-office duties. This is a cross-trained, hybrid role where you may be scheduled in one area but must be ready to assist the other as clinic needs shift. You will play a key role in maintaining smooth patient flow, supporting providers, and ensuring every patient receives the exceptional AFC experience we are known for.
Responsibilities
- Room patients, take vitals, perform point-of-care testing, assist providers, prepare exam rooms, maintain cleanliness and readiness, document accurately in EMR
- Check-in/out, verify insurance, collect copays, answer phones, schedule visits, provide clear and friendly communication
- Rotate between front and back office; support the opposite area when patient volume or staffing requires
- Deliver warm, efficient service to every patient; bilingual Spanish preferred to support our community
- Work collaboratively with providers, MAs, and administrative staff to maintain AFC standards and clinic flow
Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant with active certification
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office, urgent care, or similar setting
- Bilingual preferred (Spanish)
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working weekends
- Positive attitude and willingness to support wherever needed
