QA Engineer - Video Streaming, Playback & Automation
Seeking a Quality Engineer focusing on video streaming and playback QA to join a fast‑paced media technology team. This role is focused on ensuring best‑in‑class playback performance, reliability, and user experience across a large cross‑platform streaming ecosystem. The role is contract-to-hire and open to remote candidates, with a preference for those open to occasional onsite interaction in the LA OR NYC area. Responsibilities: The Quality Engineer II will be responsible for:
- Owning and expanding cross-platform player testing strategy with a focus on automation
- Designing and maintaining scalable automated test suites
- Improving test coverage and reducing manual regression cycles
- Validating QoE metrics and different playback types
- Leading QA efforts across various platforms
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in video playback streaming QA
- BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Experience with automated test frameworks
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of streaming technologies like DRM, HLS, and DASH
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Drive issues to resolution
- Provide root cause analysis if needed
