[Remote] Abinitio ETL Data Engineer

The Brixton Group is seeking a Senior ETL Ab Initio Developer to design, modernize, and deliver enterprise data integration solutions supporting banking and financial services platforms. This role combines hands-on development with technical leadership to drive ETL modernization and ensure scalable, high-quality data solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise ETL solutions using Ab Initio for large-scale data warehouse initiatives
- Develop Ab Initio solutions utilizing Metaprogramming, Parameter Driven Layouts (PDL), and reusable generic frameworks
- Convert existing Ab Initio workflows and components into optimized PySpark-based processing pipelines
- Design, code, test, deploy, and support scalable data integration solutions for banking applications
- Build and enhance data migration and cloud integration solutions supporting enterprise modernization initiatives
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, code reviews, testing, and production deployments
- Prepare test plans, execute functional and integration testing, manage defect resolution, and validate production readiness
- Estimate development effort, identify technical enablers, and implement efficient data ingestion and transformation processes for enterprise data warehouse platforms
- Provide technical guidance to project teams while supporting delivery of complex ETL initiatives
Skills
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with ETL Ab Initio development and solution design
- Hands-on experience with PySpark for ETL modernization and Ab Initio object conversion
- Hands-on experience developing Shell scripting solutions for enterprise data processing
