[Remote] Accountant
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Teleport is a company focused on simplifying trusted computing for engineers. They are seeking an Accountant to join their Finance team, responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and corporate reporting.
Responsibilities
- Perform critical accounting functions such as recording, reconciling and analyzing G/L account transactions
- Assist the Accounting team in the preparation of month end close journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis (for example: accrued expenses, fixed assets, prepaids, deferred revenues, payroll, intercompany, etc.)
- Review customer contracts to ensure accurate billing, revenue, etc
- Assist with Accounts Payable to review, code, and process vendor invoices
- Review compensation and commissions to ensure accuracy
- Cross train with other accountants to serve as backup
- Assist with tax filings and audits including addressing PBCs requests
- Assist with and/or complete ad hoc projects as requested (e.g. documentation, development projects, system implementations, etc.)
- Build and leverage cross-functional relationships within the company to more effectively bring value to Accounting and other internal teams
- Learn how to operate all types of accounting operations of a medium sized startup
Skills
- Degree in Accounting or Finance with 5+ years of accounting experience in a similar position
- Experience in GL, account receivables, accounts payable, tax, and payroll
- Strong written, oral communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and take ownership of work products
- Open minded, looking to create efficiencies and eager to learn
- Quickbooks and SaasOptics/Maxio experience is a plus
- Previous work experience in the SaaS industry
- Understanding and experience working with financial statements audits
