[Remote] Data Scientist II
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Wilcore Technologies, Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated Data Scientist to support a Department of Veterans Affairs program. The role involves analyzing complex datasets, developing statistical models, and collaborating with teams to provide data-driven solutions that enhance veteran services.
Responsibilities
- Analyze large and complex datasets to extract actionable insights relevant to VA program objectives
- Develop and implement statistical models, algorithms, and data processing techniques to support program goals
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data needs and translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Prepare comprehensive reports, visualizations, and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security in accordance with VA and organizational standards
- Stay current with industry best practices and emerging trends in data science and analytics
Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Proven experience in data analysis, modeling, and visualization
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL
- Experience with data management tools and platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SAS)
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights clearly
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Must be a U.S. Citizen who is able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Knowledge of healthcare or government programs is a plus
