[Remote] Design Consultant

Kardex is a company specializing in warehouse solutions, and they are seeking a Design Consultant to develop optimal solutions leveraging AutoStore technology. The role involves working closely with clients to create tailored designs that maximize operational efficiency and customer ROI.
Responsibilities
- Utilize simulation and engineering tools to analyze and optimize Autostore layouts and processes, ensuring maximum operational efficiency and storage density
- Gather and analyze data related to warehouse operations, including inventory flow, storage requirements, and order fulfillment processes
- Develop and run simulation models to predict system performance, identify bottlenecks, and propose design improvements
- Work closely with engineering, operations, and sales teams to gather requirements and ensure designs align with client objectives and industry best practices
- Present design solutions and simulation results to clients, providing clear explanations of the benefits and potential impact on their operations
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continually enhance Autostore designs and operational strategies
- Prepare detailed design documentation, including specifications, drawings, and simulation reports to support project implementation
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in warehouse design, operations, or related roles
- Proficiency in simulation software (e.g., AnyLogic, FlexSim, or similar) and engineering design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis and modeling
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with automated systems preferred including: AutoStore, Conveyor, Mobile Robots, Bin Picking Robotics and more
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management practices is a plus
