[Remote] Director of Business Development - AEC

QP Group is a highly respected MEP consulting engineering firm seeking a Director of Business Development to lead strategic growth across Colorado and the Mountain Region. This role focuses on identifying target clients, building industry relationships, and developing regional growth strategies to position the firm for long-term success.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a business development strategy focused on Colorado and the broader Mountain Region
- Research, identify, and prioritize target clients, markets, and growth opportunities
- Build relationships with owners, facility leaders, architects, developers, contractors, and industry partners
- Identify upcoming capital programs, infrastructure investments, and strategic pursuits
- Establish and maintain a qualified pipeline of opportunities aligned with the firm's growth objectives
- Collaborate with technical leadership to position the firm for key pursuits and client opportunities
- Represent the firm at industry conferences, networking events, and professional organizations
- Gather market intelligence and provide recommendations that support long-term growth initiatives
- Serve as a trusted ambassador of the firm's brand, culture, and capabilities
Skills
- Proven success in business development, client development, market expansion, or strategic growth
- Experience within the AEC, consulting engineering, architecture, construction, or related built-environment industries
- Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, and advance new client relationships
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Strategic thinker with the ability to create and execute growth plans
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and thrive in a remote environment
- High level of business acumen, professionalism, and sound judgment
- Existing relationships throughout Colorado or the Mountain Region are highly desirable
