[Remote] Engineering Manager, Nautobot
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Network to Code is leading the global movement toward automated, data-driven networking. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead the software development and delivery of key open source projects, guiding a distributed engineering team and ensuring high-quality delivery in collaboration with Product Management.
Responsibilities
- Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing distributed engineering team, including full responsibility for goal setting, performance reviews, and career development
- Own and prioritize the team backlog in close collaboration with Product Management and key stakeholders
- Own the team-level roadmap and detailed requirements, partnering closely with Product Management on overall direction
- Ensure delivered work meets quality standards and aligns with defined user workflows and acceptance criteria
- Own end-to-end software delivery in a modern, agile environment while implementing engineering practices, including AI-assisted development, that improve team focus, velocity, and quality
- Ensure optimal delivery and team efficiency by tracking key engineering metrics and proactively removing required roadblocks
Skills
- 5+ year experience managing and developing engineering teams in a modern software environment
- Experience within a product-focused organization delivering open source or commercial software
- Strong understanding of designing and building RESTful APIs
- Strong understanding of modern software development practices and the SDLC, including the use of AI-assisted development tools
- Passion for building high-quality, scalable, and reliable software
- Honesty and empathy to those around you on a daily basis
- Ability to operate with a high degree of ownership and deliver results with minimal oversight
- Ability to build trust with both senior leadership and highly skilled engineers
- Strong attention to detail with an understanding of how current decisions impact long-term platform evolution
- Confidence and decisiveness, with the ability to remain flexible and open to new ideas
