[Remote] Implementation Engineer (Cisco)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Dice is seeking an Implementation Engineer (Cisco) to meet client-specific requirements and ensure compatibility with existing IT infrastructures. The role involves rigorous testing, troubleshooting, and providing documentation for new systems while coordinating with project managers for timely project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Meet client-specific requirements| ensuring compatibility with their existing IT infrastructure and systems
- Perform rigorous testing of systems to ensure stability| efficiency| and security before full-scale implementation
- Provide detailed documentation and standard operating procedures for the client| ensuring they understand the new systems and any changes made
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the implementation phase| offering timely and effective solutions
- Coordinate with project managers and other team members to ensure timely and on-budget delivery of implementation projects
- Evaluate post-implementation system performance| making adjustments as necessary and providing ongoing support and optimization services
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, business, finance or related field or technical training. Must have strong analytical skills
- Minimum of 3 years experience required in technical role in the following focus areas Data Center, Cisco Nexus Platform switches, Arista, Arista CVP desired, BGP, Automation experience must have Ansible
- Ability to be nimble and flexible prioritize workload, proactively react to issues and consistently react to shifting deadlines. Ability to work weekends (as needed) for migration work
- Soft skill - Leadership be a self-starter, self-directed and shows initiative. Focused on execution, delivery and commitment to dates. Ability to work in a high paced environment
- Can manage risk is a good decision maker. Understands the big picture can relate to the firms strategy and actions and how they support our business results
- Demonstrates ownership Is accountable and influence, can hold others accountable (professionally). Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to communicate and influence upward as well as laterally. Organized and detail oriented
- Have a strong technical acumen. Ability to partner with others for the good of the initiative
- Python is a plus
- Unix or Linux background is a plus
- CCIE preferred
- Financial services (Insurance, Banking, Investment banking) is a plus
