[Remote] Law & Motion Attorney/ Brief Writer (remote CA)

Beacon Hill is a leading national plaintiffs' litigation firm seeking a highly skilled litigation attorney with a strong focus on legal writing to support complex litigation matters. The role involves drafting motions, conducting legal research, and contributing to case strategy for high-stakes cases across California.
Responsibilities
- Draft and revise substantive motions, oppositions, demurrers, writs, and trial briefs in California state court
- Conduct advanced legal research on issues such as government immunity, personal jurisdiction, statutory frameworks, and institutional liability theories
- Support discovery-related motion practice and meet-and-confer efforts
- Assist in developing case strategy and identifying legal arguments across active matters
- Prepare internal memoranda on emerging case law and legislative developments impacting plaintiffs' claims
- Collaborate closely with attorneys across multiple complex cases simultaneously
Skills
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active California Bar admission
- 3-5+ years of litigation experience, with strong emphasis on legal writing
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality, persuasive written work with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment
- Strong interest in advocacy-driven work representing individuals and holding institutions accountable
- Familiarity with California civil procedure; experience with government liability or plaintiff-side litigation strongly preferred
