[Remote] Manager, DevSecOps Engineering

Elios AI is a climate software company building an enterprise platform that measures, analyzes, and reduces organizations' carbon footprints. The Manager, DevSecOps Engineering will lead a globally distributed team, ensuring the health, security, and reliability of CI/CD pipelines while also contributing to the codebase. This role combines technical execution with executive strategy, requiring strong leadership and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of distributed DevSecOps engineers working across multiple time zones and hemispheres
- Set the operating rhythms, communication norms, and escalation paths that keep async, cross-hemisphere collaboration from falling through the cracks
- Stay hands-on as a technical subject matter expert: guide architecture decisions, dig into complex issues, and contribute to the codebase
- Own DevSecOps strategy, security compliance against ISO 27001 and SOC 2, and infrastructure automation
- Build and maintain version control architecture that streamlines CI/CD delivery
- Lead DevSecOps reviews of the core platform to surface issues, propose solutions, and drive remediations
- Report to executive leadership on team progress, security posture, and infrastructure health
- Partner with Data Engineering and IT to keep the company anchored in data-driven decisions
- Document designs, key decisions, and architectures so the team can troubleshoot and scale later
Skills
- 8+ years in DevSecOps or related engineering roles, including proven experience leading teams
- AWS and/or GCP infrastructure architecture experience, with hands-on containerization and cloud network performance proficiency
- Extensive CI/CD experience using modern DevSecOps tooling
- Experience working in an Infrastructure as Code environment, plus the willingness to help define security standards used across teams
- Track record in high-compliance environments centered on ISO 27001 and SOC 2; familiarity with SAST and DAST in complex environments is ideal
- Strong communication skills for executive-level reporting and stakeholder management
- Experience managing the performance, growth, and development of direct reports
- Cloudflare experience is a plus
- Working knowledge of container and virtualization architectures, Kubernetes, PaaS, automated test tooling, and multi-host container networking is highly desirable
