[Remote] Microwave Engineering Manager
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. NextGen, a Kelly Telecom Company, is seeking an experienced Microwave Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on microwave transport networks. The successful candidate will oversee engineering activities, mentor teams, and ensure high-quality delivery of solutions supporting wireless networks.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of microwave engineers supporting large-scale wireless transport projects
- Oversee microwave network design, path engineering, capacity planning, and implementation
- Review and approve microwave link budgets, path profiles, and engineering packages
- Support deployment, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of microwave backhaul networks
- Provide technical guidance for Ericsson and Aviat microwave solutions
- Coordinate with RF Engineering, Transport Engineering, Construction, Operations, and Project Management teams
- Drive project schedules, quality standards, and engineering deliverables
- Review network performance and resolve complex technical issues
- Mentor engineers and establish engineering best practices
- Participate in technical meetings and provide engineering leadership throughout project execution
Skills
- 7+ years of microwave engineering experience
- Previous experience leading or managing engineering teams
- Strong hands-on experience with Ericsson microwave platforms
- Experience with Aviat microwave systems and planning tools
- Solid understanding of microwave path design, RF propagation, and link budget analysis
- Experience supporting wireless backhaul for LTE and 5G networks
- Knowledge of FCC licensing and microwave frequency coordination
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Experience with multi-vendor microwave networks
- Background supporting large wireless network deployments
- PMP or other technical certifications are a plus
- Experience with IP/MPLS transport networks
- Familiarity with network management and performance monitoring tools
