[Remote] Municipal Finance Associate Attorney
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Direct Counsel is seeking a Municipal Finance Associate with 3–6 years of experience to join a highly regarded Public Law practice. This role involves advising public agencies and other participants in sophisticated municipal finance transactions throughout California.
Responsibilities
- Represent public agencies, underwriters, lenders, borrowers, and other participants in municipal finance transactions
- Assist with the structuring, negotiation, and closing of public finance transactions
- Draft and review financing documents, resolutions, agreements, disclosure documents, and related transaction materials
- Conduct due diligence and assist with transaction management
- Research and analyze municipal finance, regulatory, and public law issues
- Advise clients regarding financing structures, regulatory requirements, and transaction-related risks
- Collaborate with attorneys and clients to develop practical, business-oriented solutions
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Skills
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active California Bar membership in good standing
- 3–6 years of experience with municipal finance transactions
- Experience representing public agencies, underwriters, lenders, borrowers, or other transaction participants
- Strong legal research, writing, drafting, and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Demonstrated interest in public agency representation
- Ability to analyze sophisticated financing structures and regulatory requirements
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and collaborative mindset
