[Remote] Platform Engineer

World Wide Technology is a leading technology company, and they are seeking a Platform Engineer to enhance their infrastructure and operations. The role involves contributing to platform reliability and observability, delivering well-tested changes, and supporting successful product launches.
Responsibilities
- Becomes a reliable contributor across the platform, taking features and fixes from change through deploy
- Helps keep the platform reliable and observable as it grows
- Delivers consistent, well-tested changes across environments
- Supports launch readiness, reliability, and adoption success
Skills
- 4–6 years of professional infrastructure, platform, DevOps, or SRE experience
- Hands-on Kubernetes experience; experience with OpenShift a plus
- Working competency in Go, with the ability to make changes to an existing service
- Experience with Helm for packaging and deployment
- Experience working with PostgreSQL (queries, migrations, basic operations)
- Experience with Grafana or comparable monitoring/observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus)
- Solid software development experience—comfortable writing and maintaining automation, tooling, and service code
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code practices

- Familiarity with the Kubernetes operator/controller pattern (CRDs, reconciliation)
- Production PostgreSQL operations experience (backups, tuning, scaling)
- Experience supporting product launches or scaling for external customers
- Strong instincts for making complex or automated system behavior observable and trustworthy in production
