[Remote] Senior Real-World Data Scientist
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Right Fit Advisors is hiring senior Real-World Data (RWD) scientists to lead analysis strategy and ensure methodological rigor across real-world evidence studies. The role involves programming in SAS/R and SQL, overseeing quality control, and collaborating cross-functionally to contribute to study protocols and manuscripts.
Responsibilities
- Lead RWD analysis strategy, specifications, and study methodology
- Program independently in SAS/R and SQL; build packages, work with complex data structures
- Execute propensity score matching, lines-of-therapy logic, Sankey diagrams, and ML (LASSO, Decision Trees, Random Forest, XGBoost)
- Use OHDSI/DARWIN tool sets in R where applicable
- Oversee QC, manage timelines/deliverables, and mentor on best practices
- Contribute to SAPs, protocols, and manuscripts; collaborate cross-functionally
- Track work in Jira or ADO
Skills
- Master's in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Data Science, Bioinformatics, or related field + 5–8 yrs experience; or PhD + 3+ yrs
- Strong SAS or R, plus SQL — independent programmer
- Experience with propensity score matching and ML methods on RWD
- Healthcare data experience: Claims (Optum, MarketScan, Pharmetrics+, HealthVerity, CPRD) and EHR (IQVIA, Flatiron, ConcertAI, TriNetX)
- OMOP CDM or similar CDM experience
- Strong epidemiology/outcomes research background
- Proven autonomous project leadership in a matrix environment
- Oncology: Flatiron/ConcertAI experience, lines-of-therapy programming
- Molecular Epi: Cloud SQL, clinico-genomic data (Tempus AI) or biobank data (UK Biobank), Tableau/Power BI a plus
- HEOR: SAS/SQL required, R a plus; cost analysis, burden-of-illness, comparative effectiveness research
- Clinical Trials: Psychometric validation experience
