[Remote] Senior Software/Fullstack Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Piper Companies is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) to design, build, and scale a mission-driven platform that improves access to essential services for vulnerable populations. This role plays a critical part in modernizing care delivery by replacing manual processes with intelligent, data-driven systems that support housing, food access, childcare, and healthcare coordination.
Responsibilities
- Designing and building scalable full-stack applications to replace manual, spreadsheet-based workflows
- Developing intuitive frontend experiences using React and modern JavaScript frameworks
- Architecting and implementing backend services and APIs using Node.js
- Creating systems that track the full lifecycle of “care members,” identifying needs and prioritizing interventions
- Integrating AI-native capabilities (e.g., Claude AI) to enhance decision-making and workflow automation
- Building data pipelines and analytics tools to provide actionable insights and predictive capabilities
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate community and operational needs into technical solutions
- Deploying and managing applications in AWS cloud environments
- Ensuring application performance, scalability, and security best practices are met
Skills
- 5+ years of experience in full stack software development
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, React, and Node.js
- Experience working with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and deployment pipelines
- Familiarity with AI-native development tools (e.g., Claude AI)
- Experience building internal tools, workflow systems, or data-driven applications
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams
- Strong interest in applying AI to product development
- Experience working within healthcare, Medicaid, or social services environments
