[Remote] Sr. DevOps Engineer

The role involves leading DevOps operations across AWS environments, improving CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating with development and QA teams to ensure applications are production-ready.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day DevOps operations across AWS environments, partnering closely with offshore vendor teams responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support while gradually transitioning key functions in-house
- Own and improve CI/CD pipelines, release management processes, and deployment strategies to increase release efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance overall change management practices across the engineering organization
- Work directly with development and QA teams to understand sprint deliverables, coordinate deployments, validate testing coverage, and ensure applications are production-ready before release
- Build, configure, and maintain cloud infrastructure and automation solutions within AWS using services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, and NoSQL technologies, while driving scalability, reliability, and cost optimization initiatives
- Establish and enhance monitoring, alerting, and operational support frameworks using tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana to proactively identify issues and improve system stability in a fast-paced environment
- Serve as the primary onshore DevOps resource and technical point of contact, communicating regularly with leadership — including a highly involved CITO — on production health, operational risks, release readiness, and infrastructure improvements
- Help drive the long-term strategy of bringing DevOps and QA capabilities in-house by improving operational processes, mentoring teams, documenting procedures, and identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, accountability, and cost savings
Skills
- 8+ years of hands-on DevOps engineering experience with strong expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure, CI/CD automation, release management, and production support within fast-paced enterprise environments
- 5+ years of experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, CloudWatch, and containerized or cloud-native architectures, along with experience supporting both relational and NoSQL databases
- 5+ years of experience with a deep understanding of CI/CD tools and DevOps automation technologies such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Python, Bash, or PowerShell, with the ability to streamline deployments and enhance change management processes
- Experience building and maintaining monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting frameworks using tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar technologies to improve system reliability and operational visibility
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to operate independently as a senior-level individual contributor, present updates to executive leadership including the CITO, and thrive in a high-visibility environment requiring both strategic thinking and hands-on execution
