[Remote] Wordpress Developer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Winmill Software is a remote-first company seeking a WordPress Developer to join their engineering team. In this role, you will support ongoing website enhancements, troubleshoot issues, and implement new features across various WordPress-based projects.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, update, and optimize WordPress websites to ensure performance, security, and reliability
- Develop custom WordPress pages, templates, and themes based on business and design requirements
- Build and manage content using modern block editors, including Gutenberg and Kadence
- Troubleshoot website issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
- Collaborate with designers, content creators, and stakeholders to deliver user-friendly experiences
- Manage code repositories and participate in version control processes using Git
- Work with MySQL databases to support website functionality and data management
- Configure, manage, and deploy websites hosted on WP Engine
- Perform website testing, quality assurance, and ongoing improvements
- Follow WordPress development best practices and coding standards
Skills
- 4+ years of professional experience working with WordPress
- Strong experience with WordPress site maintenance and support
- Proven experience developing custom WordPress themes and pages
- Hands-on experience with Gutenberg and/or Kadence block editors
- Strong PHP development skills
- Experience using Git for version control and collaborative development
- Solid understanding of MySQL databases
- Experience managing websites hosted on WP Engine
- Knowledge of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
