Job DetailsJob Location: Remote - Lafayette, IN 47904Position Type: Full TimeJob Category: SalesPrincipal Objective of Position: The Sales Engineer is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding market share by developing and managing key customer relationships within assigned territories. Leveraging strong technical sales experience, this role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, delivering tailored solutions, and providing exceptional service to ensure long-term customer success. Essential Functions: Develop and execute a strategic territory plan to drive new business acquisition and expand existing accounts across assigned regions (Southeast, Northeast, Southwest, and Western U.S.) Proactively identify, pursue, and close new opportunities by leveraging an existing book of business and strong industry network. Build and maintain long-term relationships with OEM and Tier 1 customers, acting as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact. Diagnose customer challenges and deliver tailored, solution-based offerings that align with a premium service model. Operate independently to manage all aspects of the sales cycle, including prospecting, and quoting. Consistently meet or exceed revenue targets through effective territory development and account growth strategies. Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and leadership teams to ensure successful execution and customer satisfaction. Maintain detailed and accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, and pipeline activity within the CRM system. Monitor market trends, competitive activity, customer needs to identify new growth opportunities, value added offerings and inform sales strategy. Provide ongoing post-sale support and account management to ensure customer retention, satisfaction, and long-term partnership growth. Development of customer forecasts with demand management that accurately predicts the needs and optimizes supply alignment. Demonstrate the ability to build and strengthen trusted relationships at the executive level to drive alignment and influence decisions. Other Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or other technical related field. Proven track record of managing and growing key OEM and Tier 1 accounts, including multi-year contract negotiations and long-term partnership development. Strong technical aptitude with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes related to precision metal components. Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and quality teams to deliver customized solutions and resolve complex customer issues. Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, margin improvement, and pipeline development within highly competitive industrial, agriculture, automotive, construction, specialty vehicle or power generation markets. QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Knowledge of sales techniques and the ability to overcome objections. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with people from various backgrounds and levels. Ability to cold call and build relationships with customers and prospective clients. Ability to effectively manage competing demands on time and attention and frequent interruptions. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability and willingness to travel to and from various customer and prospective customer sites as needed. Valid driver’s license and the ability to be appropriately insured. Work Environment: This position is performed in an office environment with little exposure to the elements. Will be required to travel 75% of the time to and from customer and prospective customer locations. May have minimal exposure to mechanical parts and loud noises.
