Talent Buyer / Booking Coordinator (Independent Music Festival)
Independent Music Festival | 1099 | Commission-Based USA Applicants Only Music comes first. Forever Wildland Fest is an independent music festival entering its fourth year, expanding across Los Angeles and San Francisco. Our mission is simple: build unforgettable lineups, support independent artists, and give back to the community we come from. A portion of festival proceeds benefits nonprofit organizations that provide mental health resources, housing assistance, financial support, and other essential services for current and former wildland firefighters. We're looking for a Talent Buyer / Booking Coordinator who genuinely loves discovering artists, building relationships with booking agents and managers, and helping curate lineups that people will remember. If you enjoy finding great bands before everyone else, negotiating with agents, and helping build an independent festival from the ground up, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Research artists that align with the festival's vision, audience, and budget.
- Build and maintain relationships with booking agents, artist managers, promoters, and independent artists.
- Conduct consistent outreach via email, phone, and LinkedIn.
- Negotiate artist offers within approved budgets.
- Identify routing opportunities and artists touring during our festival dates.
- Help curate balanced, memorable lineups across multiple nights.
- Track outreach, conversations, offers, and bookings in shared spreadsheets.
- Work directly with the Festival Director throughout the booking process.
Qualifications
- Experience working with booking agencies, artist managers, venues, promoters, festivals, or talent buying.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable with cold outreach and consistent follow-up.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Passion for discovering independent artists and live music.
- Ability to negotiate professionally and represent the festival positively.
Experience within punk, hardcore, indie, alternative, emo, post-hardcore, metal, or adjacent scenes is strongly preferred.
Compensation
This is a 1099, commission-based position. Commission is paid on artists you successfully help book for Forever Wildland Fest. As the festival continues to grow, we're looking to build a long-term booking team with opportunities to take on larger responsibilities as we expand into additional cities in future years.
