Role Description This is a part-time, remote role for a Telemedicine Doctor providing medical marijuana evaluations for patients located in Georgia. The clinician will conduct secure video consultations to assess patient medical histories, current symptoms, and treatment goals, determining eligibility for medical cannabis in accordance with Georgia law and applicable clinical guidelines. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing patient records, documenting encounters in a compliant manner, issuing recommendations or certifications when appropriate, and educating patients on safe and responsible cannabis use, potential risks, and alternative treatment options. The role also involves staying informed about evolving medical cannabis regulations, collaborating with support staff as needed for scheduling and follow-up, and maintaining a professional, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach to patient care.
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Georgia medical license (MD or DO) and good standing with the relevant state medical board.
- Experience in telemedicine or virtual patient care, including comfort with secure video platforms and electronic health records.
- Knowledge of medical cannabis indications, contraindications, and Georgia-specific medical marijuana regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong clinical assessment skills, including history taking, risk evaluation, and evidence-based decision-making.
- Excellent communication and counseling abilities, with a patient-centered, culturally sensitive, and non-discriminatory approach.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time scheduling reliably, and maintain thorough documentation.
- Prior experience in pain management, psychiatry, internal medicine, family medicine, or related fields is beneficial.
- Comfort discussing treatment options, harm reduction strategies, and integrating medical cannabis within broader care plans.
