Urban Planner / Urban Designer (Junior to Intermediate)
Dyett & Bhatia is a leading firm of urban planners and designers based in Oakland, recognized for their work in long-range planning projects across California. They are seeking a creative and passionate urban planner/designer to join their team, focusing on research, analysis, visual renderings, and community engagement for various urban planning projects.
Responsibilities
- Research and analysis
- Writing reports and plans
- Creating visual renderings/animations
- Developing design standards

Skills
- Exceptional urban design and visualization abilities
- Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
- Effective verbal communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively in teams
- Graduate degree in urban planning, urban design, or closely related field or commensurate experience
- Some prior planning-related work experience
- Expertise in Adobe Illustrator
- Candidates must hold a valid driver's license and be able to travel occasionally
- Successful candidate will need to be based in or willing to relocate to the Bay Area and work part of the week in office
- Expertise in InDesign and GIS desirable
- Exposure to California planning practice
- Geographic familiarity with the state
- Background/interest in land use planning and/or environmental planning, sustainability and climate resiliency
