Junior Web Developer

Company: MalterTech Employment: Full-time, salaried ($40,000 / yr) Location: 100% remote but must be located in Hawaii MalterTech is seeking a highly motivated and talented Junior Web Developer. The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for web development and a desire to learn and grow within the industry. The compensation for this position will be salaried. Responsibilities:
- Develop new web pages and features using vanilla HTML, CSS and Javascript
- Write well-documented code while adhering to the company style guide
- Collaborate with designers to ensure seamless integration of design and functionality
- Perform regular testing and debugging to ensure websites function as intended
Requirements:
- Good communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Detail oriented
- Experience with front-end web development languages (vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript)
- Strong portfolio of previous web development work
- Experience with version control systems such as Git
- Basic understanding of how to interact with APIs using Fetch
Not required, but strongly recommended:
- Experience with Liquid (commonly used on Shopify)
- General understanding of object oriented programming
No college degree required. Typical day at MalterTech:
- Based on a mockup provided, you’ll develop pages or features
- Testing and debugging your code on different screen sizes and devices.
- Communicating with other members on the team regarding timelines and new features.
- Engaging with clients regarding releasing new features.
