[Remote] Corporate Accountant
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Corporate Accountant will work collaboratively with leadership and the finance team to maintain the integrity of the general ledger and provide financial clarity for decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries with accuracy and proper documentation
- Complete balance sheet and account reconciliations on a regular cycle
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes from start to finish
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger across HTC and its subsidiary entities
- Prepare financial statements and internal management reports
- Conduct variance analysis and dig into discrepancies — not just flag them, but explain them
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities across the organization
- Provide financial data and analysis that helps the team make confident, informed decisions
- Support external audits and respond to audit requests — organized, timely, and prepared
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and HTC's internal accounting policies
- Help maintain accounting procedures and process documentation
- Identify opportunities to do things better and bring those ideas forward
- Provide cross-functional backup support for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll as needed
Skills
- 3–7 years of corporate accounting experience with full-cycle exposure
- Advanced Excel, including pivot tables and lookups
- ERP systems experience required
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Experience supporting external audits preferred
- CPA or active progress toward CPA licensure preferred
- Sage Intacct strongly preferred

- Occasional travel may be required, including to our Juneau, AK headquarters or operational sites
- Travel may involve small aircraft
