[Remote] Engineer I, Component Engineering (Hybrid)

The company is seeking a highly motivated Component Engineer to join their team in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, where the successful candidate will contribute to the selection, qualification, and management of critical components for aerospace systems.
Responsibilities
- Obsolescence Health Reviews: Assisting in the evaluation of electronic and/or mechanical components for lifecycle management and obsolescence risks
- Component Data Management: Supporting the creation, maintenance, and approval of SAP Manufacturer Part Numbers (MPN) for components from approved suppliers
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with the component engineering team and other cross-functional teams to address supplier requests for information and support design and manufacturing efforts
- Learning and Development: Gaining knowledge of aerospace and defense industry standards, design processes, and best practices to ensure component reliability and optimal performance
- Manage the engineering change process for component drawings, resolve roadblocks, and ensure documentation meets design and quality standards
Skills
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and less than 2 years prior relevant experience
- Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written)
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Academic or project experience in Manufacturing, Quality, or Electrical Design
- Experience working with electronic components through design activities or analyzing component specifications
- Exposure to software tools such as SAP and Teamcenter is a plus
