[Remote] Senior Backend Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Premier Group is backing an expanding, tech-forward sports and media brand in both the UK and US. They are seeking a seasoned developer to take full charge of the digital architecture and cloud setup driving their live events and fan apps.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the core logic powering public apps and internal back-office tools
- Craft ultra-low-latency setups that stay online during massive live-game volume spikes
- Own user authentication, deploy push notification systems, and hook up external data streams
- Manage cloud footprints across AWS and GCP, including deployment automation and event-driven workflows
Skills
- Expert-level Python skills (FastAPI or similar frameworks)
- Deep SQL/Postgres knowledge
- Redis knowledge
- Practical history managing live AWS environments
- Writing deployment pipelines
- Past success shipping consumer software built for unpredictable, heavy user spikes
- Sharp eye for clean API design
- Contract management
- Versioning control
- Experience with Terraform
- Experience with GCP
- Integrating complex third-party tools (billing, identity)
