[Remote] Senior Consulting Principal AWS Cloud Engineer

This role involves leading enterprise cloud architecture, driving innovation, and shaping multi-cloud strategies at scale.
Responsibilities
- Architect highly available, scalable AWS environments optimized for performance, security, and cost
- Define enterprise standards, frameworks, and best practices for cloud adoption
- Lead multi-account AWS strategies using tools like AWS Organizations and Control Tower
- Design hybrid and multi-cloud solutions integrating on-prem and SaaS platforms
- Drive Kubernetes-based microservices architecture using EKS and container technologies
- Lead implementation of IaC using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and scaling of cloud infrastructure
- Design self-healing systems with automated failover and event-driven architectures
- Implement multi-region resilience and high-availability strategies
- Establish zero-trust security frameworks and enforce IAM best practices
- Implement security services such as GuardDuty, Security Hub, WAF, and KMS
- Ensure compliance with major regulatory frameworks (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI, GDPR)
- Design secure Kubernetes workloads and enforce access controls
- Architect serverless solutions using Lambda, API Gateway, and event-driven services
- Optimize containerized workloads, networking, and observability strategies
- Design high-performance data platforms using AWS databases and storage solutions
- Implement monitoring and logging frameworks using tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, or Splunk
- Apply SRE principles to improve system reliability and incident response
- Enable real-time insights and predictive monitoring for cloud environments
- Serve as a senior technical authority and mentor engineering teams
- Lead architecture reviews and align solutions with best practices
- Contribute to thought leadership through technical discussions, innovation, and knowledge sharing
Skills
- 12+ years of IT experience, including 7+ years in AWS architecture and engineering
- Strong hands-on expertise with AWS services (EC2, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, VPC, IAM, etc.)
- Deep experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments
- Advanced knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK)
- Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture patterns
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (highly preferred)
- AWS Security Specialty or Kubernetes certifications
- AWS DevOps Engineer certification is a plus
