[Remote] Senior Product Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Sage Recruiting Inc. is an early-stage, venture-backed technology company building the next generation of collaboration infrastructure for technical knowledge work. As a Senior Product Engineer, you'll own significant portions of the product, driving projects independently and collaborating closely with customers to enhance the product and engineering organization.
Responsibilities
- Own meaningful portions of the product across the entire stack, from infrastructure and backend systems to frontend experiences, developer tooling, and documentation
- Define and drive projects independently
- Work closely with customers to understand their needs
- Communicate progress clearly
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve both the product and the engineering organization
Skills
- Exceptional technical depth and strong product instincts
- Systems engineering expertise with thoughtful design and user experience
- Well-developed opinions on version control, AI-assisted development, distributed systems, and modern software architecture
- Ownership of meaningful portions of the product across the entire stack, from infrastructure and backend systems to frontend experiences, developer tooling, and documentation
- Ability to define and drive projects independently
- Ability to work closely with customers to understand their needs
- Ability to communicate progress clearly
- Ability to proactively identify opportunities to improve both the product and the engineering organization
- Experience with TypeScript, Rust, Bazel, and Pulumi
- Driven by product outcomes and prioritizing delivering exceptional user experiences
- Values craftsmanship and cares about writing high-quality software and building thoughtful, maintainable systems
- Enjoys ownership and is comfortable taking initiative, leading projects end-to-end, and working with a high degree of autonomy
- Thrives in a fast-moving environment and is energized by ambitious technical challenges
- Bonus points for having built developer-facing products from scratch, such as dev tools, infra platforms, databases, build systems, cloud infra, AI infra, programming languages, etc
