[Remote] Volunteer Social Media Specialist

The Social Media Specialist plays a vital role in advancing the organization’s mission by managing and growing its social media presence, creating engaging content, and promoting initiatives to raise awareness about human trafficking.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a social media content strategy aligned with the organization’s mission and goals
- Manage and maintain Centurions Michigan’s official social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok)
- Create and schedule engaging posts, stories, and campaigns to raise awareness and encourage community involvement
- Monitor social media channels for engagement opportunities, messages, and comments; respond promptly and professionally
- Collaborate with program teams to promote events, initiatives, and volunteer opportunities
- Track and analyze social media metrics to measure reach, engagement, and impact; provide regular reports to leadership
- Stay current with social media trends, best practices, and platform updates to ensure effective outreach
- Ensure all content aligns with the organization’s brand, values, and messaging guidelines
- Support digital fundraising campaigns and awareness events through targeted social media strategies
- Uphold confidentiality and sensitivity when sharing stories related to survivors or investigations
Skills
- Strong understanding of major social media platforms and content creation tools
- Excellent written communication and storytelling skills
- Knowledge of social media analytics and performance tracking
- Passion for social justice, human rights, or anti-human trafficking work
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate with a team
- Background checks and relevant clearances are required
